When you make a purchase through the App Store or Apple Store, you will get an e-receipt that is sent to the email address registered to Apple ID. If you have lost the receipt from an App or Apple Store purchase, you might wonder where you can redownload them. There are a couple of ways, depending on your device and where the item was purchased. This guide will walk you though:

Find receipt of an App Store (digital) purchase, whether an app, e-book, music or others.

Find receipt of an Apple Store purchase. These include e.g. all your physical devices like iPhones, iPads, Macs and their accessories.

Find App Store Receipts from your iPhone

First you need to navigate to your purchase history.

  • Open your iPhone or iPad’s settings.
  • Tap on your profile picture at the top.
  • Navigate a bit down and select “Media and Purchases”.
  • Tap “Show account”
  • Then, navigate a bit down again and select “Purchase history”.
  • From there, find and select the purchase you are looking for.
  • From the “More options” section, tap on “Resend receipt”.

The receipt will be emailed to your account.

Find App Store Receipts With Your Mac

Finding the App Store receipts from your Mac can be a bit unintuitive, so we have gathered the exact steps for you. Here are the steps required to download the receipts with your Mac:

  • Open the Music app on your Mac (yes, really).
  • In the top bar, select Account and sign in if you are not already logged in.
  • Select Account Settings.
  • Scroll to the Purchase History section and click on See all.
  • From the purchase, click on the blue order id number.

Additional information will show up, and in the bottom there is a small button “Resend”. Click on that and the receipt will be emailed to you.

Find App Store Receipts With Any Browser

If you have made purchases with e.g. your iPhone or iPad, but only have a Windows computer at hand, you can still access your receipts. Here’s how:

  • With your browser, navigate to reportaproblem.apple.com (opens in a new window).
  • Sign in with your Apple ID.
  • From the purchase history list, find your purchase.
  • Click on the top row of the purchase item (the row with Date, Order ID, and total).

From the content that opens up, you can select “View Invoice”. Unfortunately there seems to be no way of actually downloading the PDF receipt from that window, so you are left with e.g. taking a screenshot or copying relevant information.

Find Apple Store Receipts

App Store and Apple Store are terms often used interchangeably, but they are two different things. In short, App Store sells digital goods like apps, music, and e-books, while Apple Store is for all physical things like iPhones, iPads and accessories.

To view your Apple Store orders, you need to go to the Order Listing page with your browser. If you are lucky enough to have the order number on hand, you can enter it directly to the form on the page. But if you have lost the receipt, chances are that the order number is missing too. But no problem, here is how to download the receipt / invoice:

  • Log in with your Apple ID.
  • Select the product you have ordered.
  • From the top right, click on “Download invoice”.
  • Save the PDF file to your computer.
