Step 1: Upload Your Receipts and Invoices
Start by adding your receipts and invoices to SparkReceipt. You have two options:
- Mobile App: Use the app to scan receipts and invoices directly.
- Web Platform: If you have digital copies, you can upload them directly from your computer.
- Forward From Email: Forward any e-receipt from your email inbox directly to SparkReceipt.
By centralizing all your receipts and invoices in SparkReceipt, you’ll have a digital record that’s easy to access and manage.
Step 2: Add Your Bank Statement
Next, you’ll need to upload your bank statement. SparkReceipt accepts PDF, CSV, or Excel formats, so simply choose the format that works best for you. Here’s how to add your bank statement:
- Go to your SparkReceipt dashboard.
- Select Add Document, then choose Bank Statement as the document type.
- Upload your statement file. SparkReceipt will scan and process the transactions.
Step 3: Extract Transactions
Once your bank statement is uploaded, SparkReceipt extracts all transactions for you. There’s no need for manual entry – the software reads your file and organizes each transaction into a summary view. This feature is designed to save you time and reduce human error.

- Date: SparkReceipt matches transactions and receipts based on transaction dates.

- Merchant/Payee: SparkReceipt uses intelligent algorithms to identify and match merchant names.
The AI then compiles a list of matched transactions, and if you’ve uploaded all necessary documents, you’ll have a complete record without any manual input.
Step 5: Review Matched Transactions
After SparkReceipt completes the matching process, you’ll see a summary of all matched receipts and invoices. Review these matches to ensure everything looks correct. If needed, you can manually adjust any transactions or add notes for better clarity.
