SparkReceipt's New Pricing: Extra Users $1.00/Month, Plans From $5.75/Month

The biggest names in accounting software keep raising their prices. QuickBooks Online Plus costs 41% more than it did in mid-2025. From October 1, Xero's cheapest US plan costs 80% more than it did in August 2024.
We are going the other way. An extra user on SparkReceipt now costs $1.00 a month, about a fifth of what it cost this summer, and you can pay monthly again.
On we changed SparkReceipt's pricing. Here is the short version:
- Pro: $6.90 a month, or $69.00 a year
- Elite: $12.90 a month, or $129.00 a year
- Users: 1 included. Each extra user is $1.00 a month
- Your accountant: free
- Free trial: 7 days on both plans
Pay annually and Pro works out to $5.75 a month, Elite to $10.75.
These plans replace the annual plan with three users that we sold this summer. That plan is no longer sold. Here is why we made the change, and what it means for you. The full price list is on the SparkReceipt pricing page.
Who we built this pricing for
SparkReceipt is for small business owners and side hustlers who are looking for an affordable alternative to full accounting software.
This summer's plan bundled three users. If you work alone, you paid for two logins you never used. Now the plan price covers you, and you add people only when you need them.
Adding people should be simple
When your team grows, adding someone should not mean a new plan or a sales call. It is one more user, at $1.00 a month, the same on Pro and Elite, with no minimum. A flat fee per person is easy to predict: you know what the next hire costs before you invite them.
A team of five pays for the plan plus four extra users: $10.90 a month in total on Pro with monthly billing, or $177.00 a year on Elite with annual billing. Your accountant joins free and never takes a paid seat.

Pro includes 50 documents a month for the whole account, shared by all its users. Elite has no monthly document limit under fair use.
Monthly billing is back
From May to September this year, our website sold annual plans only, because annual payments up front let us invest more in reaching new customers through advertising. You told us you want both options, so both are back.
Pro includes 50 documents a month for the whole account, one connected email inbox and one live bank feed. Elite adds unlimited documents under fair use, line-item extraction on every receipt, several inboxes and bank feeds, and AI Fields.
Lower than this summer's prices
An extra user now costs about a fifth of what it did on the plan we sold this summer. Elite on annual billing costs less than that plan's list price at every team size, and Pro is back as a lower-priced way to start. We want SparkReceipt to be a tool you can afford to keep using for years.
How other accounting tools charge for extra users
FreshBooks, QuickBooks Online and Xero are full accounting software, so their plans cover more than SparkReceipt does. They charge for extra people in different ways. As of September 2026, FreshBooks charges $11 a month for each extra team member on its Lite, Plus and Premium plans. QuickBooks Online caps users by plan: Essentials covers 3 users, and the 5-user Plus plan costs $140 a month. Xero has no per-user fees in its plans.
QuickBooks Online and Xero have also raised their prices more than once since 2024. QuickBooks Online raised its US prices in July 2025 and again in August 2026, and its Plus plan went from $99 to $140 a month over those two rounds (Woodard Report, Intuit, QuickBooks pricing). Xero's cheapest US plan cost $15 a month in August 2024 and costs $27 a month from October 1, 2026 (Insightful Accountant, Xero).
Will SparkReceipt raise prices?
As of September 2026, we have no plans to raise our prices. Whether you subscribed years ago, this summer or today, we will work as hard as we can to keep your price where it is.

This does not change your current plan or price. If you joined this summer with our 50% discount, the discount stays on your subscription. If you subscribed on our website and want to move to one of the new plans, open Subscription & Billing in the web app.
These are website prices. If you subscribe in the iPhone or Android app, Apple or Google handles the payment, and the options there can differ.
